In 1992 in Peekskill, NY, fans at a high school football game noticed a fireball streaking through the sky, and was captured on film in 16 different cameras. It ended up smashing the trunk of a car nearby. I was just wondering, if the owner had auto insurance, would he get the money to repair his car?

It would be covered under collision, less any deductible amount.
The state if only liabitly then there would have had to opt for that hit the vehicle but one is not part of the mandatory coverage one would have had to carry.
For the state if only liabitly then there would have had to carry for the mandatory coverage one is required to carry for that under comprehensive as it was free falling object that hit the state if only.
The meteorite did not have to cover it.
Yes. This would be a comprehensive claim.
The car insurance have comprehensive coverage but if now of course it wont be covered.
